Great Holiday Gifts For Little …

November 9, 2022 By admin

Finding holiday gifts for little kids can be tough so I’m sharing some unique ideas for every kid on your list. If you’re shopping for older kids, check out the Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide for Tweens and Teens…

Great Holiday Gifts for Little Kids

Tree of Light Book

This book shares an inspiring story about a mother (a tree) sending her child (a seedling) off on her own. The seed learns to find strength from within, forgive and, become flexible along the way. We can all use a reminder to remain flexible and be forgiving, especially this year.

Dimpl Digits

Toddler toys need to really captivate kids’ attention and this colorful squishy bubble toy does just that. Kids can learn to count to ten in English AND Spanish, and moms will have some free time. Win, win!

Awesome Jokes That Every 6 Year Old Should Know!

This joke book series (versions for ages five – nine) is one of my personal gift-giving favorites. Kids never tire of telling jokes and these books guarantee they will always have plenty of material. Perfect for girls and boys.

Musical Jewelry Storage Box with Spinning Unicorn

For the girl who has everything, this musical jewelry box with a spinning unicorn will become a favorite spot for all her baubles and trinkets. Over unicorns? Check out the ballerina and superhero versions.

TWEE Sidewalk Chalk

Chalk is always an easy go-to kids gift but these gorgeous handmade chalks, shaped like macaroons, sushi, pizza, donuts, ice cream, jewels and more, are anything but ordinary.

Crayola Color Bath Dropz

These colored bath drops make tub time fun for kids of all ages. Drop one or more in the water and kids will be sure to stay and play for a while. Perfect for those kids who dread bathtime and also great for traveling.

Blockaroo Magnetic Foam Building Blocks

STEM gifts make great holiday gifts for little kids and these colorful magnetic foam blocks are a nice option. These blocks offer endless imaginative building with frustration-free stacking as they “magically” connect together. I love that these can also go in the tub and dishwasher.

Little Passports Gift Subscriptions Boxes

Subscription boxes are a great way to extend the holiday season. Little Passports is best known for their travel themed boxes (USA Edition for kids 7-12) but they also have Early Explorer for kids 3-5, Science Junior for kids 5-8 and Science Expeditions for kids 9+ versions as well.

Are you still shopping for the holidays? If you need more ideas, check out The Best Books for Little Travelers.

Unsolved Case Files – Teens (and mature tweens) will love channeling their inner detectives as they try to solve a murder mystery. This is one of those games that might take a few hours or days as everyone works together to sort thru clues and documents. It can be played individually or in groups of any size making it the perfect party game.

Relative Insanity See What I Mean – This funny game uses photo cards and dice to come up with some very interesting scenarios that the “judge” reviews before choosing a winner. Great for four to 12 players.

Every globetrotting mom on your list will love ARMigami, the wrap that does it all. The soft fabric drapes without clinging and can be worn in dozens of styles from skirts and halters to wraps and beach cover-ups as you simply style it by folding, twisting and buttoning! I received one at the Momtrends holiday event (in black of course) and I have worn it as a scarf, halter wrap and shrug top so far. The wraps are available in a selection of colors and fabrics and they all come inside a matching travel bag making them a great gift for any traveling mom.

I usually throw my regular cosmetics in a ziploc when I travel so when Stowaway Cosmetics told me about their travel-sized makeup line, I was all ears. Their seven-piece essentials kit comes with a travel pouch making it a perfect gift for any on-the-go mom. The petite cosmetics are “right sized” which means you won’t get bored with shades or have to worry about expiration dates. I love how simple the items are to use (no need for extra brushes or sponges) and how easy the eyeshadow palate is to apply. I am usually running out the door in the mornings but when I gave myself a few minutes to sample these items, my mom friends all commented how great my make-up looked.

Every mom I know who loves to travel also loves to take photos. If you’re looking for some photography inspired gift ideas you can’t go wrong with this chic Gold Mine camera strap from Bloom Theory Straps?  I love the Stardust with silver sequins too. For underwater photos, my GoPro is hard to beat and a new DSLR or iPhone is always a great gift.

I don’t like to travel with high-maintenance jewelry which includes anything that needs to be polished. The new line of Nambé jewelry is a great gift for moms who want wear nice jewelry with ease because the sterling silver pieces are Rhodium plated for a tarnish resistant finish. Whether you wear these pieces every day or once in a blue moon, not having to polish is a major plus for busy moms. My favorites are the modern pieces like multi-band rings and twist cuff bracelets that won’t snag clothing or scratch babies.

2015 Holiday Gift Guide …

December 16, 2015 By admin

Books are one of my go-to presents for kids of all ages and today I’m sharing my Gift Guide for the Best Books for Globetrotting Kids.

2015 Holiday Gift Guide - Best Books for Globetrotting Kids and Giveaway, Books, Kids, Travel, Giveaway, Gift Guide

2015 Holiday Gift Guide – Best Books for Globetrotting Kids and Giveaway

1) I See Me! books – I especially love giving personalized books as baby presents but I had to order my six-year old this adorable It’s Fancy to Be Me personalized book that showcases a little girl (with custom skin and hair) traveling the globe. We both love reading it and she especially loves seeing her name and photo on the pages. Enter to win your choice of I See Me! customized books TODAY ONLY (details below)…

2) Peppa Pig and the Day at the Museum – If you’ve got little Peppa fans, this colorful book is sure to please.  I love that it teaches kids how to behave in museums and gives them an idea of what to expect during their first museum visits.

3) The Central Park Tales – My daughter and I love exploring New York’s scenic Central Park so I was interested to check out this tale of animal characters who live in the park. The book is comprised of ten short stories making it is a great option for emerging readers who can rely on comprehension rather than photos.

4) Balloons over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy’s Parade – If your family loves watching New York City’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, this book will become an immediate favorite.  The story tells the true story of how the famous floats came to creation with gorgeous graphics and a bit of STEM education along the way.

5) People – I love gorgeous oversized children’s picture books but if they don’t hold my daughter’s interest, they just sit on the bookshelf, and yes, we have a collection of those… My daughter is continuously drawn to this book which showcases details of people and their varied lifestyles across the globe. From clothing and housing to religions and customs, this book is a great option for teaching diversity.

6) Mad Libs – I just introduced my daughter to these fill-in-the-blank short story books and they were an immediate hit. If you’re heading off on a holiday road trip, these would be a great gift kids of all ages would enjoy along the way. I grew up with the classic version but they now feature specialty editions (think Star Wars, Frozen, SpongeBob SquarePants
and holidays) as well as Mad Libs on the Road and Vacation Fun versions perfect for globetrotting kids (and adults too).

7) My Pop-up World Atlas – Pop-Up books are always a hit with kids and this pop-up atlas makes learning geography fun. My daughter never tires of lifting the flaps and pull tabs to uncover interesting details from around the world. Its fairly sturdy but I wouldn’t leave toddlers unsupervised with it…

8) Eloise: The Ultimate Edition – For girls who love, love, love Eloise, this treasury is sure to please. This is a great choice for young travelers since it features Eloise in Moscow and Eloise in Paris as well as Eloise at Christmastime and the original Eloise story and scrapbook.

9) The New York Times: 36 Hours USA & Canada – For kids who are old enough to plan family adventures, this coffee table book is filled with travel itineraries and suggestions for trips across the United States and Canada.

10) From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler – Pre-teens will love this award-winning adventurous tale about two kids who hide out in NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. They bathe in the museum’s fountains and sleep in royal beds as they run away from home and discover a mystery along the way.
