If you’re looking for gift ideas for the globetrotter in your life, you’ll love this post. My holiday gift guide is full of great gifts for travelers to enjoy at home and away…

Great Gifts for Travelers

TRAVEL MUST-HAVES:

Gifts for Travelers

Digital Luggage Scale – My number one travel accessory is this easy-to-use luggage scale. Stop guessing if your bag is under 50 pounds and say goodbye to extra baggage charges.

Packing Cubes – I am a huge fan of packing cubes, especially for families since each person can choose their color. Just group items or outfits in cubes and packing will be a breeze.

Hanging Toiletry Bag – I keep my toiletry bag packed so I can just grab and go. Zippered compartments are perfect for travel accessories and the hanging design keeps bathroom clutter to a minimum.

Travel Jewelry Organizer – Keep your jewels safe and never lose an earring again with these colorful jewelry boxes. The small size and compartments make this a great option for quick trips. And remember, never ever check your jewels in luggage!

Reusable Shopping Bags – These are so useful for shopping at home and away. They also double as road-trip snack bags, beach totes and laundry bags. Choose from solids, prints and metallic options – an easy gift for travelers.

Travel Adaptor – A must for every globetrotter. Keep your favorite electronics charged wherever you go. Pick a different color for everyone in your family.

Travel Sized Laundry Bag – For the traveler who has everything, this world map laundry bag is a fun gift. I love that it folds into a tiny travel pouch with a carabineer.

TRAVEL INSPIRED GIFTS FOR TRAVELERS:

Show Tickets and Personalized Shirt – For the Broadway fan on your list, a pair of tickets to an upcoming show and a personalized shirt to wear make a great gift. I used my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine to personalize a “So Fetch” shirt for a Mean Girls lover in sparkly pink.

Scratch Your Travels USA Map – Travelers will love highlighting their US adventures as they scratch off each state they visit. Add a frame and you’ve got a great family gift.

Travel Scarf – A travel scarf is always a good idea and this infinity version with a secret hidden zipper pocket is a great gift for travelers all ages. Choose from solids and patterns.

50 States, 5,000 Ideas – This comprehensive National Geographic book is full of sightseeing ideas in every state. A great gift option for families.

FOR TRAVEL LOVING FOODIES:

Tenzi – I’m a huge fan of easy-to-pack family games and Tenzi is one of my favorites. This multi-dice game is easy to learn and fast to play. There are several variations which help keep boredom at bay. Add in the 77 Ways to Play The Add-on Card Set and you’re guaranteed hours of good fun.

Playing Cards – An oldie but goodie, playing cards are easy to bring along on any trip making them great gifts for travelers. From Go Fish and War to Canasta and Rummy, everyone on the trip will find something to play. Other options include Solitare and building card houses.

Match-O-Rama – From the makers of Telestrations, Match-O-Rama is a great game choice for multi-generational family trips. The better you know the players, the easier you can predict how others will answer. Or maybe not? Easy to learn, fast to play and sure to keep the whole family entertained.

Kodak Premium Puzzles – Puzzles are a great activity to bring along on a vacation. Choose from easy to hard (depending on the ages and patience levels) and the whole family can enjoy. Kodak has a lot of travel-themed options (Boston, Italy, Greece, US National Parks and more) perfect for travel-loving families.

2016 Holiday Gift Guide …

December 13, 2016 By admin

The holiday season is here so don’t wait until the last minute to get your mom (or wife) a great present.  Of course, the best gifts are handmade so have your kiddo make a card or necklace to go along with one of these picks from my 2016 Holiday Gift Guide – Gifts for Moms who Travel.

2016 Holiday Gift Guide - Gifts for Moms who Travel

2016 Holiday Gift Guide – Gifts for Moms who Travel

Got a new mom who loves to travel and cook on your holiday list? She may not be able to travel around the world right now but she can give her baby a taste of exotic worldwide flavors with Around the World in 80 Purees: Easy Recipes for Global Baby Food. It is so interesting to see what other countries choose as first foods for their babies and learn about spices from all over the world, I’m sure any new mom would love this. Pair this with a BEABA babycook and she’ll be whipping up culinary masterpieces in no time.

Every globetrotting mom on your list will love ARMigami, the wrap that does it all. The soft fabric drapes without clinging and can be worn in dozens of styles from skirts and halters to wraps and beach cover-ups as you simply style it by folding, twisting and buttoning! I received one at the Momtrends holiday event (in black of course) and I have worn it as a scarf, halter wrap and shrug top so far. The wraps are available in a selection of colors and fabrics and they all come inside a matching travel bag making them a great gift for any traveling mom.

I usually throw my regular cosmetics in a ziploc when I travel so when Stowaway Cosmetics told me about their travel-sized makeup line, I was all ears. Their seven-piece essentials kit comes with a travel pouch making it a perfect gift for any on-the-go mom. The petite cosmetics are “right sized” which means you won’t get bored with shades or have to worry about expiration dates. I love how simple the items are to use (no need for extra brushes or sponges) and how easy the eyeshadow palate is to apply. I am usually running out the door in the mornings but when I gave myself a few minutes to sample these items, my mom friends all commented how great my make-up looked.

Every mom I know who loves to travel also loves to take photos. If you’re looking for some photography inspired gift ideas you can’t go wrong with this chic Gold Mine camera strap from Bloom Theory Straps?  I love the Stardust with silver sequins too. For underwater photos, my GoPro is hard to beat and a new DSLR or iPhone is always a great gift.

I don’t like to travel with high-maintenance jewelry which includes anything that needs to be polished. The new line of Nambé jewelry is a great gift for moms who want wear nice jewelry with ease because the sterling silver pieces are Rhodium plated for a tarnish resistant finish. Whether you wear these pieces every day or once in a blue moon, not having to polish is a major plus for busy moms. My favorites are the modern pieces like multi-band rings and twist cuff bracelets that won’t snag clothing or scratch babies.

Globetrotting Mommy’s …

December 21, 2015 By admin

Family friendly activities, vacations and books are great holiday gifts but there is nothing like watching a kid open up the most wanted toy on their wish list. Today I’m sharing my Best Toys for Kids Holiday Gift Guide.

Globetrotting Mommy's Holiday Gift Guide - Best Toys for Kids, toys, Shopkins, Barbie, Zoob, Monopoly, Sleepover Sara, Dolls

Globetrotting Mommy’s Holiday Gift Guide – Best Toys for Kids

Best Toys for Kids – Holiday Gift Guide

1 – Shopkins anything! – I can’t write a 2015 holiday gift guide without including Shopkins since my daughter and all her friends are soooo obsessed with these little guys and their many cute playsets. If you can get your hands on Target’s Exclusive Shopkins Mystery Edition this holiday season, you’re golden.

2 – My First Weaving Loom – The crafty kids on your list will love this kid-friendly loom. My perfectionist daughter needed a bit of assistance to keep the rows even but the results were impresive. I love that it includes instructions and measured out chenille yarn to complete three projects (headband, scarf and purse). Once you master those, you can create your own projects with the sturdy wood loom and crafting tools.

3 – Monopoly Junior – This mini-me version of the classic board game is a great gift for boys and girls.  In addition to the traditional version, there are also themed games including the ever-popular Frozen.

4 – Barbie Pop-Up Camper – My daughter got this as a birthday present and it was an immediate hit.  Barbie is really traveling in style these days with roof-top dining, chandelier lighting, pull-out swimming pool with slide, fire pit, bathroom and more. Girls will love taking their Barbies “glamping” as they play for hours. Make sure to leave yourselves some time to put together the pieces and attach the zillions of stickers.

5 – Sara Sleepover Doll – Every little girl I know can’t wait to host or attend her first sleepover. Let your little one take this adorable plush Sara Sleepover Doll for a test-drive and you won’t have to worry about anyone going home in the middle of the night.  Sara comes with comfy detachable bunny slippers and a cute teddy bear that can be stored in a velcro pocket which makes her a perfect pal to bring along on real sleepovers, vacations and summer camp.

6 – ZOOB Z-Strutz Scorpion Driller – If you’ve got a little builder, this ZOOB kit will be a hit. Kids can build a Scorpion Driller, Tunnel Driller, Vertical Driller or a Mine Cart with the enclosed pieces or make their own creations. I love how the pieces move after you put them together so kids can let their imaginations run wild.

7 – Beanie Boos – These ever popular collectibles come in a wide array of characters and sizes.  I love that they are small enough to not over clutter a bedroom and they are also great for bringing on vacations.  The tiny versions clip onto backpacks so your kids won’t lose them.

8 – Vicks Sweetdreams Cool Mist Humidifier (in pink or blue) – A humidifier isn’t exactly a toy but when it can project fun images onto ceilings, I think that changes everything. You can choose from starry night, sea and safari themes (each theme features three images) which can be projected with or without the humidifier running. If you’re looking for a way to combat winter dryness and keep your babes soothed as they fall asleep, this is sure to please.

9 – Scientific Explorer Tasty Science Kit – Young experimenters will love this STEM culinary science kit. The kid includes materials to make ten tasty projects including fizzy drinks, rock candy, and other sweet treats. I love that it teaches kids about flavors, taste buds and sensory cues with a little chemistry thrown in for good measure.

10 – Project Mc² Dolls – This new doll line from MGA Entertainment is all about teaching girls that Smart Is The New Cool. Each of the four adorable doll sets include a real science experiment, fun accessories and stand. We tried the volcano experiment with the Adrienne Attoms doll and it was a big hit. Click here to see…

What toys are on your kids’ wish list?  Tell me below in the comments.

Must Have Family Friendly Travel Accessories – I’m always bringing home leftovers from holiday celebrations and Igloo has a great selection of chic insulated totes (Trend, Maxcold and Stowe) that make nice holiday gifts for everyone on your list. I especially love that these bags fold up for storage and are leak-resistant making them great picks for road trips and plane rides. For junior travelers, the adorable bag tags and travel journals from Mudpuppy are sure to please. Other ideas for family friendly travel accessories include selfie sticks (I know, I know) and gift cards to make photo books showcasing your travels.

2015 Holiday Gift Guide for Globetrotting Families – Family friendly games are sure to please.

On The Go Games – Family friendly games are great to bring to holiday get togethers and the classics from Hasbro (think Twister, Operation, Jenga and my all-time favorite Monopoly) are perfect options. I also love travel friendly family games like Melissa & Doug Travel Hangman, Spot It, eeBoo’s Color Go Fish Cards which are great for little hands.

4) Deckopedia’s 50 Road Trip Games: Inside this cute box are 50 cards featuring so many fun games, you won’t hear “I’m bored” ever again!  I’ve had these in my bag for the last month and they have saved me from meltdowns on road trips, at the doctor’s office, in restaurants and many other places kids tend to get bored. The games range from toddler to teen making it a great option for moms with kids of any age.

6) Your Child’s Artwork and Handwriting Necklace – This Etsy store turns cute kiddie doodles and signatures into necklaces (or earrings, brooches, bracelets and key chains). If you’ve got an artsy kid, this is a great option that moms (or grandmas) would definitely love.

7) Fashionable (and slimming!) swimwear from Miraclesuit and Magicsuit. Summer is coming and odds are your mom needs a new bathing suit and cover up. Splurge on some fabulous swimwear for her and she will be ready for St. Tropez or the kiddie pool. I got to test drive a Miraclesuit and coverup in Miami last week (thanks Momtrends!) and they were comfy, chic and oh so flattering.

9) Mommy and Me Photo Shoot – Since its important that Mom Stays in the Picture, I think a Mommy and Me Photo Shoot would make an awesome Mother’s Day gift.  Hire a professional or hand dad the good camera and head to the park. Here’s a tip I just learned from my daughter’s kindergarten teacher that works wonders for a natural smile…have kids say “Macaroni and Cheese.”

Happy Mother’s Day!!!!!!
