The Map Necklace: A most …

September 24, 2013 By admin

You know how hard it is to find a present for that person who has everything? I love this unique gift idea for the impossible to please guy or girl!

Introducing The Map Necklace from Three Jane…

Globetrotting Mommy - The Map Necklace

Globetrotting Mommy – The Map Necklace

You choose the address (from anywhere in the world!) and Jewelry Designer Katie Schloss custom designs a necklace, bracelet or cuff links!  Your personal location is highlighted with a crystal stone and the surrounding streets are engraved onto the 14K gold plate.

You’ll have a lot of fun deciding on your map…think childhood home, spot you met your spouse, where you got engaged or married, best family vacation, favorite landmark or hotel, summer camp, college, or hospital where you gave birth, etc.  For more personalization, you can engrave the back.

Can’t decide on just one spot?  Get a few and wear them layered.

These make great gifts for moms, dads, grandparents as well as older kids heading off to camp, college or a semester abroad.

What would you choose for yours?

These are perfect for boys and girls who love all things aviation or vacation.  If you haven’t already stocked up on your back-to-school supplies, act now.  Here are some options I designed for your viewing pleasure…

Globetrotting Mommy – Mabel’s Labels

Now that my daughter is in preschool, every sippy cup, lunch box, shoe and coat she owns must be labeled and Mabel’s Labels are the sturdiest labels I’ve ever used.  I’m talking my dishwasher has a sanitize button that melts plastic, yet these survive perfectly…So cute, right?

These also make great birthday or holiday presents for the kid who has everything…or the mom who likes to keep things organized.

Have a great weekend!

Goodbye ponytail…hello …

September 19, 2013 By admin

Do you spend so much time getting your kids dressed in the morning only to realize you have a whole four minutes left to get yourself out the door.  Pretty much every single day, right?

I’ve got some good news for busy on-the-go moms!  We can now say goodbye to boring mommy ponytails and hello to chic and easy top knots…

I attended NYC’s Fashion Forward Conference last week (yes, I was at Fashion Week!) and this little goody was in my goody bag…I hereby introduce you to The WRAP UP™, the newest addition to my favorite hair accessories list…

Globetrotting Mommy - The WRAP UP

Globetrotting Mommy – The WRAP UP

You put your ponytail through the center slot, pull it up towards the end and simply roll it down and fluff the hair around the base. Sounds complicated but I swear the whole thing takes about 20 seconds! Voila. Here I am testing my mad hair skills at the Sarah Potempa booth last week.

Globetrotting Mommy - The WRAP UP

Globetrotting Mommy – The WRAP UP

So much more sophisticated than that boring ponytail, right?  Works at home or away…playground, supermarket, date night, stroll around Paris, early morning safari.  You get the picture.

The WRAP UP™ is perfect for all ladies with shoulder length or longer hair (with long or no layers) and makes a great gift for a new mom.  Available in yellow, brown or black, you’ll definitely want to stock up on these for your next trip.

What are some of your favorite hair accessories?

Got Kids with Allergies? …

September 18, 2013 By admin

Children’s allergies are no joke. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics one out of every 12 children, or 11.8 million, has a food allergy and the CDC reports that one in 10 children have Asthma.

If you’re traveling far away or just down the road for a playdate, make sure your kids with allergies or illnesses are protected with these must-have products from AllerMates.

I like these adjustable (fits most kids) allergy alert wristbands for kids with allergies to foods (peanut, egg, tree nuts, dairy, shellfish, fish, soy, sesame) and other sensitivities (Penicillin, insect stings, latex, pollen, cats, etc.).  There are also wristbands to identify Diabetes, Asthma, Autism and vegan children.

Got a kid with more than one allergy?  No worries, the multi-allergy wristband can fit up to six health charms (everything from peanuts and food dyes to I Carry an EpiPen®).  Enter to win one below!

They also carry a wide range of “Do not let me eat ____.” stickers as well as lunch and snack bags that say “I have allergies” or “I’m Wheat Gluten Free.”  And they have just launched a line of EpiPen®, Auvi-Q and Asthma Inhaler carrying cases

AllerMates is offering Globetrotting Mommy readers a 20% discount code on all items (discount code: GTM13) and they have donated a multi-allergy wristband for one lucky winner.  To enter, just like Globetrotting Mommy on Facebook and comment below which allergy/illness charms you’d put on the wristband.  Deadline to enter is September 25 at midnight and the winner will be announced on September 26th.

Do not even think about leaving your kids with allergies at any hotel kids club without loading up on these items.

Created by a mom, of course…

And, if her little sister wants to match, check out the Kolam Coral or Diamond Net Pink sets from the Mini Masala Twosies collection.  Matchy matchy is so very cute on the under 10-set.

Best diaper bags for …

August 21, 2013 By admin

Traveling with a little one anytime soon?  Below are my picks for the best diaper bags for traveling – think lightweight and functional.  These diaper bags will fit all your supplies without screaming “I’m a tourist.”  And yes, they all include the mandatory changing pad.

For the Mommy who makes it look easy:

I’ve never met a LeSport Sac bag I didn’t like and LeSport Sac’s Ryan diaper bag does not disappoint.  Available in an array of solids and fun prints (love the bronze lightning, black patent and pinkie dot) this roomy classic is very durable, very lightweight and very easy to clean.

Globetrotting Mommy - LeSportsac Ryan Diaper BagFor urbanites like Eloise’s Mommy:

City moms like to look sleek and stylish day and night making this Carry Love Tote from TWELVElittle diaper bag a great option. Available in plum, teal and black, the chic and roomy bag features pockets galore and unlike many totes, it has a large top zipper closure for added security.

For the Jon & Kate Plus 8 Multiples Mommy:

When you’re running after a brood, you need your hands free.  This quilted TWELVElittle Companion Backpack diaper bag comes to the rescue in teal, plum or black water resistant nylon. The lightweight backpack is roomy inside and out with multiple compartments, side pockets and a secret bottom pocket.

For the Fancy Nancy Mommy:

The sleek Kate Spade Stevie Diaper Bag is as chic as gets in the land of diaper bags. Made of durable nylon that wipes clean, this baby features several compartments and a change purse.

August 15, 2013 By admin

Does your daughter have a gazillion barrettes and hair clips like mine?  If you’re tired of finding her cute little hair accessories at the bottom of your diaper bag with Goldfish crumbs all over them, you’re going to love the Clippie Clutch, a must-have travel accessory from Etsy’s Snugglebugkidz shop.

Globetrotting Mommy - travel accessory Clippie Clutch

Globetrotting Mommy – travel accessory Clippie Clutch

Great for traveling to Paris, Walt Disney World, the Caribbean or just Grandma’s house, sleepovers and dance class, the Clippie Clutch ensures you’ll never lose another barrette again.

Globetrotting Mommy - travel accessory Clippie Clutch

Globetrotting Mommy – travel accessory Clippie Clutch

The cute tri-fold purse comes in a selection of fun fabrics and can carry up to 30 hair clips.  Open it up, clip all your barrettes to the inside, close the velcro closures and you’re on your way.  Not too big and not too small, the Clippie Clutch purse is 13 inches wide x 9.5 inches long and folds to 9.5 inches long x 5 inches wide making it perfect for carry-on luggage, diaper bags, backpacks, dance bags, purses and suitcases alike.

I can’t think of any girly girl who wouldn’t love one of these making it a great birthday gift for the girl who has everything.  Add a few cute barrettes and you’re all set.

Bye bye broken, squished, and lost clips !!!
