DIY Toys for home and away …

September 12, 2013 By admin

Do you do like to do crafty art projects with your babes?  Do you like to travel?  Here’s a win-win idea for DIY toys you can use at home or away.

If your kiddo is obsessed with dramatic play time like mine, you will love this DIY pretend city idea I spotted on Kids Activities Blog. Since you really can’t fit a dollhouse into a suitcase, this is the next best thing.

With just paper bags, old newspapers, paint, markers, stickers and a stapler, your little architects can create towns big or small. You can make them in advance and stuff them when you get to your destination or you can use your travel surroundings for inspiration. Imagine a skyline, a beach village, or a small town.  So cute.

Bring along some super heroes and princesses, Little People, My Little Pony toys or Barbie dolls and you’re good to go.

What are your favorite toys for traveling?

Books Across America: Cool …

September 10, 2013 By admin

Looking for a cool kids bookcase that will fit a zillion books and still manage to look sophisticated?  Look no more…this United States Bookcase by Ron Arad, is a stunning piece of art that will keep hundreds of books organized!

Kids can organize their books by state or coast while learning some geography along the way.  Move over Waldo, imagine… Where’s Madeline? Where’s Cinderella? Where’s Curious George? You get the picture.

I think this would be amazing in a nursery, kids room, playroom or living room.  For more book storage ideas, check out these 14 Mind-Blowing Bookcases For Little Bookworms from red tricycle.

Cool baby nursery idea: Map …

September 4, 2013 By admin

Can’t fit the whole wide world on your walls or in your arms for that matter? I bet these map covered alphabet letters will fit. Spell a baby’s name over the crib for a cool baby nursery idea or write a saying in a big kid’s room, these cheery alphabet letters will look great in any room. You could even put the family name over the kitchen table or in the playroom…

Do your kids miss their puppy …

August 27, 2013 By admin

Do your kids hate leaving the family pet home when you vacation?  Are they enamored by Finding Nemo or The Little Mermaid? If you answered yes, book your next trip at a Kimpton hotel and let their “Guppy Love” program keep everyone happy!

Globetrotting Mommy - Kimpton Hotel Guppy Love Program

Globetrotting Mommy – Kimpton Hotel Guppy Love Program

Available at many of Kimpton hotels worldwide, the “Guppy Love” program allows guests to borrow a goldfish to keep them company and provide a sense of comfort during their stay.  Don’t worry moms, Kimpton’s staff even feeds them so all you and your kids have to do is sit back and enjoy their company. This is a fun little perk for families missing their pets, parents missing their kids and even single travelers who want a little companionship.

And, if you decide you’d rather bring your own pet, go right ahead as Kimpton’s pet friendly amenities will keep your furry children just as comfortable as your real ones.  With cozy pet beds, food and water bowls, fresh snacks and a Director of Pet Relations at select locations, Kimpton’s pet amenities and services are fit for the most pampered pooches and classy cats around.

Bon voyage.
